Sports Performance

Built on Sports Performance

DFX sits inside one of the largest privately owned sports performance facilities in the Triangle. We train high-level athletes in this building, so our members get far more equipment and technology than a typical CrossFit gym, coached by staff with exercise science degrees.

Our VALD force plates, speed gates, and velocity-based training show how you move, how fast you are, and how you lift.

Force Plates

VALD force plates measure the force you put into the ground during jumps, strength tests, and balance work.

What you learn

Jump height, power, strength, left-to-right balance, and how those numbers change when we retest.

Speed Gates

VALD timing gates clock straight-line sprints and change-of-direction drills with split times you can track.

What you learn

How fast you cover a set distance, how you change direction, and whether your speed is improving over time.

Velocity-Based Training

VBT tools measure how fast the bar moves on every rep.

What you learn

Bar speed, power, and whether you are hitting the intended intensity for that set, with clear feedback as you lift.

Why objective testing matters

Objective numbers give coaches and members a shared picture of where you are and how to train next.

  • A clear baseline and progress you can see over weeks and months
  • Left and right imbalances that feel fine but show up in the data
  • Readiness and fatigue signals so training can be adjusted on the day
  • Training at the right load and speed for the goal of that session
  • Motivation from real sprint times, jump metrics, and bar-speed numbers
